A blue moon is the second full moon in a calendar month.
A seasonal blue moon is the third full moon of a four full moon season. Normally a season has three full moons. Every 2-3 years a season will have four and the third one is called a seasonal full moon.
A season is the period of time between a solstice and an equinox, or an equinox and a solstice. These are typically three month periods, which is why they usually have three full moons.
The next full moon is again in Aquarius and will be a seasonal full moon.
This new moon is happening exact Sunday morning 9:50am ET at 16 degrees of Leo and forms a square to Uranus.
My favorite thing about new moons is the opportunity for deeper self-acceptance that comes with a new moon. This particular one brings to mind the African Proverb: If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.
It comes to mind, because I feel that this new moon is asking us to take a deeper look at both how we shine on our own and how we engage with community.
Consider that we need to support the greater good while staying connected to our own joy and purpose. We need to show up for others and be open to receiving support from our communities. We each have a unique contribution to make in this world and it is amplified when we remember we are all connected.
This is a great time to ask yourself what you want to share with the world and what kind of support you need.
Full moons are cosmic mirrors, giving us opportunities to look at ourselves in new light. This Aquarian full moon is an invitation to open yourself to universal connection and community.
How do you balance your needs with what you need to contribute to the world?
Do your friends nurture or drain you?
Do you feel you need to be perfect or project a certain mage to be accepted?
Full moons invite us to look at our feelings and see the source of them, and they remind us to invest energy in what nurtures us and release what does not.
This new moon (9 July 2021 at 9:17pm ET) at 18 degrees of Cancer is square Neptune and comes with a Venus/Mars conjunction nearly in perfect parallel to the new moon. New moons are the start of the lunar cycle and are great for setting an intention and starting something. My favorite thing about them though is the opportunity they give us to deepen our self-acceptance.
Looking at the sky map for this one, it feels like this new moon is an especially good opportunity for some radical self-acceptance in the form of emotionally accepting and honoring who we really are rather than feeding the idealized image of ourselves we hold in our heads.
When we do this, when we nurture our true self, we unlock a new level of self-acceptance that propels us to our best life. The clearer we are about who we are, the more we live in alignment with our best self. We get into the flow of our highest good. Our energy is powerful and loving, and how we live reflects what we value.
This full moon today is often called the strawberry moon or rose moon. It’s in Capricorn and is exact on Thursday (24 June 2021) at 2:40pm ET. Both the sun and moon will be at 3 degrees and aspect Jupiter. The moon will sextile Jupiter so the sun forms a trine.
I feel like this full moon is especially supportive of opportunities to see how we can communicate our vulnerability in a way that makes us feel more safe. When we fully accept ourselves it’s easier to be clear about how we feel and to express ourselves. We’re less fragile. Our emotional walls dissolve and transmute into confidence and strength, limitations become healthy boundaries and our emotions energize us into foundational self care.
This full moon is also a super moon and it’s the last one for this year. Soak up the glorious moonshine. Have a beautiful full moon.
The Gemini new moon happens 10 June 2021 and it’s also an annular solar eclipse (partial eclipse). We have a spectacular opportunity for increased self-acceptance and to better understand ourselves.
Own your feelings without judging them or yourself for having them. When you do you’ll find they are illuminating teachers.
Take care of yourself the way you would someone precious to you, including saying kind things to yourself. This is a great time to create positive self talk. Finish this sentence in a living way, “I’m …” and periodically repeat it to yourself.
I often gave my mom flowers and when I saw these today, I thought about her. Flowers pretty much always make me think of Mom, so I bought them for myself. She would have loved them, and I felt her joy as I put them in water.
This month our full moon is a Super Flower Blood Moon. It’s also a total lunar eclipse and the sun and moon are conjunct the nodes.
Super moons happen when the moon is closest to the earth, so they look super big and spectacularly gorgeous. The blood part comes from the bit of red ring when it forms the eclipse.
The coolest part of this full moon though is the conjunction of the Gemini sun with the north node and Sagittarius moon with the south node.
This is an amazing time to free yourself and embrace who you want to be, because just as the chrysalis splits open and the butterfly emerges, you can shed your past and step fully into the present moment.
It’s okay to hold on to memories and continue to understand where you’ve been and what you’ve learned. The invitation here is to step fully into your present. To know that you can live the life you want to live and be the person you want to be while you’re healing and learning.
Our spiritual journeys aren’t linear. They include set backs, and side steps and learning lessons over and over again. There is a mystical power though in remembering that our soul’s transcend time. Our earthly lives are all connected across space and time, so let’s step out of time and experience who we really are even in the midst of all of our earthy lessons.
Allow yourself to do this. You are who you are right now. In this moment, you aren’t defined by your past or your pain, your loss or your mistake. You are the loving being you’ve always been, and in a moment of pure grace you can remember that and let it inspire you to keep moving forward with your life. When you do, you will shed something you no longer need and feel light enough to fly.
Let’s talk about the Taurus new moon happening on Tuesday afternoon (11 May 2021). I love looking at it with the whole sky map and this moon happens with Neptune at 22 degrees of Pisces and Mars and Uranus both at 11 degrees forming a yod with the south node.
So what does all that mean?
I feel like this new moon is an invitation to get in alignment with who you deeply aspire to be and to lean deeper into accepting yourself by looking at how you’ve let your past neutralize your desires and sense of freedom.
The more fully you accept yourself, the easier it is to build on what you value and understand what is change worthy.
What have you not pursued because of old beliefs about who you are and who you thought you’re supposed to be? How have you labeled yourself for something you’ve done by creating a loop of negative self talk and limiting beliefs? What parts of yourself have you rejected or continue to resist acknowledging? How have you dismissed your capacity to change?
While you always have answers to all your questions inside you, sometimes it helps to see what’s in you by seeing it reflected outside of you.
So this is a great time to challenge long held limiting beliefs about yourself by being open to seeing these reflections. Break out the metaphysical tools you have, notice the soft intuitive nudges you get, embrace the random people you meet, take in the synchronistic signs that flow by you every day.
Listen to what people say to you with an open mind and heart.
Listen to what your soul is saying to you with an open mind and heart.
Discover or rediscover, another reason to love yourself.
The full moon on Monday night, April 26th is called the pink moon and it’s one of this years super moons. Super moons happen when the moon is closest and so they are the biggest and brightest full moons for the year.
This coming full moon happens at 7 degrees of Scorpio and I’m loving it because it opposes the sun while the sun is conjunct Uranus.
Emotional attachments to parts of ourselves, aspects of our lives and other people can shift when we least expect. We are invited to remember that change doesn’t diminish value. It just means it’s time to let go to create space fir what follows.
I’m so excited about this coming new moon, happening Sunday night at 10:31pm ET. For the past several months the new moons have been at 23 degrees, the degree of sorrow and we’ve finally shifted from that.
This month the new moon is at 22 degrees of Aries. Venus is along for the ride and it brings a square to Pluto. So what does all this mean?
I feel like this new moon is an especially fantastic time to own your mastery. Fully own who you are and what’s important to you. Trust yourself. Be decisive and don’t look back or second guess yourself or get deflated when someone else tries to redirect tell you by sharing their experience.
If what they tell you is helpful, great! Use it. If it brings you down or feels in conflict with your inner guidance, then ignore it. You can thank someone for their concern and discard what they told you without being dismissive to them. It’s your life and you need to follow where your soul is leading you to go.
Let your true intentions for your life now, at this moment, surface. What matters is where you want to head now. Not what you wanted 2 years ago, or what your friends or culture tell you to want. Who do you want to be, now? What kind of life do you want to live, now?
If you feel overwhelmed, ask your soul to give you one small step you can take now to start moving in the direction you need to go and ask for a sign that confirms you’re headed there.
Life requires us to make lots of course corrections so be open to knowing that where you need to head now may be different than you once thought and could change again. Focus on now. This year. What is your soul nudging you to learn, to do, to let go, to embrace, to start, to create.
If you feel lost, set an intention to open your mind and heart and be willing to listen to your soul without reservation. No caveats. No conditions. Just the willingness to know what your soul wants you to know. You get to choose whether you follow your soul’s lead, but remember this, your soul knows everything you know and then some.
